Naga Speaks to Silver Wolf (who has just arrived) about Wolf Blood who foretells the appearance of Silver Wolf: "Kefka spoke the truth. We have accepted her into our family though her origins are not clear, her madness is considered holy. Since her time with us she has prophesied a great many things, of them your coming here to us. She is called Wolf Blood and you are to be bound to her. You are crude in your speech and in your manors now, but Wolf Blood will take on the task of tutoring you in the language and ways of your original people." Wolf Blood chants while preparing Silver Wolf to be sacrificed: Meditate on Taikomol, Solitude-walker the creator, who began as a voice in the sea foam then rose up in human form Who established the First World by laying the cross of the four winds over the black waters He will guide your spirit into communion with our ancestors the First People, take their council most importantly, answer my call use the eagle feather, pray to safely return You will meet many spirits. Do not falter - for if you do you will fall, prey unto perils far worse than you've encountered before Wolf Blood was later killed horribly in the fire that destroyed the Longhouse and all other young and elderly taking shelter with her there. Wolf Blood traveled to the House of the Dead, but returned to The World as Wolfmother along with the Spirit Feather that traveled with Silver Wolf. She has come back, claiming to be one of the Dene (First People) - being that our tribe venerates and worships our ancestors, a living ancestor makes Wolf mother the eldest and de facto a demigod or living Hero from the Time of Legend. Wolf mother may be psychotic. Her drive to accumulate personal power is fueled by the need to protect her children in this terrifying vision she has of the future. Her status as a Witch lends itself to increase the latitude given to the breaking of traditional norms - that is becoming much more frequent as her mastery of occult knowledge grows. Wolf mother recognizes the special purpose for Silver Wolf as the center (fifth sacred direction) for the five rituals that counter the five omens that she has foreseen. The willingness of Wolf mother to sacrifice her being as a traditional Olekwol, her humanity as well as her soul - may imply a kind of risk to the Wolf Clan that is greater then the risk of physical death. In addition, Wolfmother has forced abdication of the Council Elders and now has full authority over tribal affairs. This new order displeases the Red Shields who remain loyal to the Chief. Mahohivas (Red Shields) lead by Thunder Wolf, are a secretive organization and self proclaimed protectors of the Elder Chieftain and the Council Elders, carry Axe type weapons and stand by their oath of loyalty to the deposed Chief, Naga Wolf.
The former Chief, Naga Wolf has passed onto the next world and Silver Wolf, chosen by popular outcry has replaced him as Chief. Silver Wolf used her new position and the loyalty of the Mahohivas and many Xuaz’honehe to reinstate the Elder Council. Wolfmother has turned over the Spirit Feather to Silver Wolf as a sign of her giving over control of tribal affairs and destroyed the throne as Silver Wolf chooses to sit amongst the warriors. Wolf Mother is now a member of the Elder Council and spends her time researching the permanent banishment of Morax.
