I think that we should add some sort of bagball arena to add somefun into the islands. Currently the Covians use your islands for training, i would like to use it for other reasons like so. I can make my own arenawith Logs and Qstaffs... but it takes time and decays. This design or somthing similar would only take around 10mins to build, requiers no scripting and is only roughly 15 tiles by 23 tiles. The reason behind this?? It is a well known fact that back in the old UO days.. Knights played this game offen. There were many knight, citizen teams formed across many UO servers. So to say.. if Cove formed 2 teams, Yew formed 2, ToN formed 1, four orders formed one.. it would be a great event. This also wouldn't just limit it for knights. I think they need rp pits before this. and Im not talking about something linked to the duel pits of fel. just a cool looking arena for rpers to set up fights between themselves without using game mechanics.
i dont think pits would be a "hot topic" on the islands right now.. i really couldnt see it being used that much. I know the imbus pits were wasted.. this would be good for an event though.
Bagball was loads of fun when I didn't role-play it. Can't imagine how fun it'll be when I do. I think this is a good idea.
Ummm wrong, the pits in imbus were used all the time and Im saying do a pits but not have it linked to the dueling system. All rules have to be verbally set up there is nothing stopping a person from cheating. This shard thrives on combat, dueling pits will always be a popular thing rp community or not. Dueling pits should be the first thing staff add if they are going to add anything. You were not around imbus pits and del enough to know that the dueling pits were always getting attention.
this takes 10mins to make, duel pits and scripting takes how long?? oh.. and im sure every role player will be scared of your "dueling" skill.
Will you actually read my posts completely. There would be 0 scripting involved in what I am suggesting. I am suggesting a static arena that is it. No scripting everything is setup verbally with players. Hybrid = combat Bagball = something hybrid does when there are no combat events going on. I am not saying that bagball wouldnt be a good thing, I would love to have two bagball arenas one on good island and one on evil island and good and evil can compete; however, duel pits seems like a more sensible thing to work towards on hybrid if they want it to get use. As of right now I know for a fact that staff are not going to add anything like this until guilds start moving there and rping there.
why not both..why must evil be god pvp'ers and good be pussies..theressome good pvp'ers that might wanna duel...Ie Annia,Felix some yew guys,,
im not saying they cant go to teh evil islands.. im saying it suits the islands. good roleplayers are mostly knights i.e, bagball players. the duelpits should be around death i.e, evil island.
rofl rofl good point... besides you say that it fits good island because they are "knights", wouldnt you think that knights would be dueling. Ever heard of jousting tourny's? They would joust, fight with free style on foot, swordsmanship on foot. I believe you are trying to sell anything for knights it would be and arena for fighting. Your points for bagball have not been very convincing.
Duel arena first. People can walk up and see "Annia Faustina" and walk away. Besides...Bagball sucks tbh...
this is a fun event. you may think it sucks, but others like it. fighting is fighting, bagball is somthing different. it gets you fit and brings a crowd... duel pits are just gay.
I'd much rather watch a duel between two (or more) skilled fighters then watch a bagball game between two skilled teams. This shard is about PVP, and we as a community have intigrated RP into that. Not the other way around. Although RP should not be centred around PVP, a bagball game would be hard to intigrate into an RP situation with waring guilds. Why would an undead want to play a game of bagball with mortals? For their souls? Obviously it'd be easier to just kill you, or capture and sacrifice you. Sure, you could get some guilds into it I suppose. Though, everyone can enjoy a PVP arena. Either as a participant, or a spectator.
